Purpose: Start your day in a way that it provides increased energy and peace in your life.

Quiz: Answer yes or no to each question. This is meant to do mentally, however you can always answer in your journal.

1. I make my bed upon rising.
Yes: Making your bed immediately takes less than two minutes and contributes to order in your environment and peace of mind. If you share a bed, let it be the responsibility of the last one out to make the bed.
No: An unmade bed is an energy drain every time you look at it

2. I allow adequate time to accomplish all the necessary duties and activities before leaving the house.
Yes: Allowing your self sufficient time is a way of honoring Self and demonstrating Self-love.
No: Not allowing sufficient time creates stress and tension in your mind and body. It is agitating and aging. Who needs that?

3. I tidy my bedroom and bathroom as I proceed through my morning rituals.
Yes: Developing the habit of picking up as you go becomes automatic with practice. It is a work saver in the long run and contribution to those who live with you.
No: Leaving a path of destruction in your wake is exhausting for you and others to deal with. Pick up after yourself.

4. I eat a healthy breakfast.
Yes: You have been asleep for 6-9 hours and your body requires fuel for the new day's experiences.
No: You would not expect your car to run without fuel, why would you ask your body and mind to do this? Learn what type of food works best for your particular body type and start this practice right away.

5. I set the kitchen in order before leaving.
Yes: Leaving any room better than you find it will pay big dividends. Who would want to walk in from a day's activities to a messy kitchen? That would contribute nothing to your well being.
No: Generating incompletion in your wake is a self-sabotaging pattern which is insulting to Self and others. Cut it out.

6. I take at least 15 minutes for my Daily Devotional Ritual
Yes: Allocating time for prayer, meditation or centering will get your day off to a smooth start.
No: Skipping this activity will save you time in the short run, but cost you in the long run. Find the time to get yourself grounded in your values before launching your day.

7. I look at my goals and schedule before dressing.
Yes: Great, the essence of being well-dressed is to be appropriate for where your day takes you. If your activities are varied, dress for the most important activity of the day. Additionally, looking over your scheduled activities allows your subconscious mind to go to work on the details of your day as you occupy yourself with the ritual of dressing for the day.
No: Not knowing where you are going makes it difficult to dress appropriately and keeps your day a mysterious surprise as it unfolds before you. We recommend that you get your surprises elsewhere.

8. My dressing process is streamlined and enjoyable.
Yes: You have all the necessary ingredients assembled and have a recipe handy. Daily checklists will aid you in installing new morning habits when they are indicated.
No: Creating problems and roadblocks to prevent you from getting out the door in a timely and efficient manner will sabotage your success efforts. Assemble the tools and streamline the process. If you have ADD, get yourself a Dressing Checklist and follow it religiously.

9. I place backpacks, errands, lunches and briefcases by the door I leave from as a physical reminder to take them with me.
Yes: Placing the item by the door is a structural reminder to you to get out the door with it. A note on the door can remind you of items in the refrigerator or elsewhere that need to be gathered before leaving.
No: Out of sight/Out of mind. In your hurry to get on the road, you can easily drop out vital components of your day and aggravate yourself by having to return for the item or make do without it for the day.

10. I have organized my errands to fit into my schedule.
Yes: Since you will be traveling in a certain direction anyway, why not knock off an errand or two on the way. Saves time and energy.
No: Ok, use your weekends and valuable office time or knock off errands in the normal pace of life and avoid the weekend traffic of office-bound errand running.
